I wish you would use some images of OLDER people playing the flute & issues to do with being a mature player….ie. flute modifications….plugging up french model holes to free up hands that stiffen with age….working around arthritis……etc. The flute is NOT only for young people.
Thank you very much for your suggestion. This is a great idea! You are absolutely correct – the flute is not only for young people. Many of my previous students have been older and have dealt with some of the issues that you mention above. I would love to write a blog on the challenges facing older flute students and the unique strengths that they bring to the art of playing the flute. Please keep an eye out for this in the coming weeks. I would also love to get your thoughts on the subject and would be happy to include them in my post. Please email me at racheltgeier@gmail.com.
Thanks again and I will be updating my studio brochure soon!
